Pearl River Man Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced to Driving While Intoxicated 4th or Subsequent Offense and Resisting

District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that on May 15, 2023, Randy Marvin Trosclair, 50, of Pearl River, pled guilty to driving while intoxicated 4th or subsequent offense and resisting an officer by refusal to give a name.  District Judge John Keller sentenced him to 10 years in prison, to be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. By law, this sentence is consecutive to the defendant’s parole time on his previous DWI.

The defendant has five prior DWI convictions.

In February of 2023, State Police observed the defendant operating a vehicle on I-10 in an erratic manner. During the ensuing traffic stop, the defendant was observed to have slurred speech, bloodshot and glassy eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The defendant refused to provide identification or allow the officer to perform any field sobriety tests.

It was later determined the defendant’s driver’s license had been suspended due to his prior DWI’s.  Lab analysis of a blood sample taken from the defendant indicated his Blood Alcohol Content was 0.18 grams %.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christina Fisher.
