Pearl River Man Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced for Pornography Crimes Against Juveniles and Animals

District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that on May 15, 2023, Charles Patrick Cochrane, 58, of Pearl River, pled guilty to 6 counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles, 3 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles and 5 counts of sexual abuse of animals.  District Judge John Keller sentenced him to 7 years in prison, to be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

Based on a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in May of 2022, Special Agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation began investigating the defendant’s online activities. As a result of the investigation, the agents executed a search warrant on the defendant’s residence and recovered multiple images of children engaged in sexual acts.  Also recovered were images of adults engaged in sexual acts with animals and lewd images of the defendant himself.  The defendant was then arrested and transported to jail.

Supervisory Special Agent Brian D. Brown investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christina Fisher.
