Grand Jury Indicts Covington Man for Multiple Sex Crimes
Against Three Victims Under the Age of 13
On March 8, 2023, a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted Cody Wetzel, age 20 on:
- 4 counts of first-degree rape, victim under the age of 13,
- 3 counts of sexual battery, victim under the age of 13 and
- 3 counts of aggravated crimes against nature, victim under the age of 13.
The abuse took place over a 2-year period in Covington, Louisiana when the three victims were between the ages of 7-12 years old.
Detective Adrianne Bieller of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Special Victim’s Unit investigated the case and Assistant District Attorney Ysonde Boland presented the case to the Grand Jury.
