The Career Criminal Division was formed for the express purpose of prosecuting cases involving career criminals and the most serious armed or violent felons.  The Division handles designated robberies, kidnappings, sex offenses, murders and burglaries, as well as other crimes of violence.

The Division is staffed by a veteran prosecutor, and many of the cases are handled vertically, i.e. from arrest through trial by the same Assistant District Attorney.
