District Attorney Warren Montgomery joined Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal in congratulating Sandra Conerly, who received the Deputy Sheriff of the Year Award at a luncheon, sponsored by the Bogalusa Rotary Club on April 28. Conerly, who is in charge of security at the Washington Parish courthouse in Franklinton, credited her strong faith in God for enabling her to do her job well. She said it is important to her that everyone who comes to the courthouse is treated with respect. Many of Conerly’s family members and friends attended, as well as some of the officials who work with her at the Franklinton courthouse, including District Judge William J. Burris, and Assistant District Attorneys Lewis Murray and David Duke. Bogalusa Rotary Club officials said this was one of their most well-attended luncheons this year.
